PROGRESS FOR NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE

What We’ve Accomplished and What Comes Next

A record of delivery, and a vision for the work still ahead.

What We’ve Accomplished

The record matters.

Over the past four years, Council has put infrastructure and heritage at the forefront of our planning. We secured funding for agricultural irrigation, advanced key projects like the Queen Street Secondary Plan, and designated more heritage properties than any council before us.

We also delivered Niagara-on-the-Lake’s first Tourism Strategy and supported major cultural investments, including $35 million toward the Shaw Festival theatre and the expansion of the local museum. By working with regional and provincial partners, we continue to bring vital resources, increased support for community groups, and a long-term parks and recreation vision to our town.

The Museum is a great example of what that looks like — preserving our history while creating opportunities for exhibitions, programming, education and community stories.

No Council is perfect, and there is always more work to do.

Vision isn’t just something you talk about. It’s reflected in the decisions you make and the work you put in.

Ready For What Comes Next

I’m not running to be the loudest voice at the Council table. I’m running to be a thoughtful, prepared, and effective one.

Over the past four years, I’ve learned that municipal leadership isn’t about winning every argument or having the perfect answer. It’s about showing up, doing the work, asking the right questions, listening to people you agree with — and people you don’t — and making decisions based on facts, good advice and what is best for the community.

I believe we have a responsibility to think beyond the next meeting, the next headline or the next election. We need to think about the Niagara-on-the-Lake we are leaving to our kids.

  • Can a young or old person afford to build a life here?
  • Can a family find a place to belong?
  • Can our infrastructure keep pace with growth?
  • Are our parks, recreation facilities and community spaces meeting the needs of the people who live here?
  • Are we protecting the heritage, agricultural lands and character that make this place special while still making room for the future?

Those are the questions I want to keep asking.

I believe we can disagree without dividing ourselves. We can have strong opinions without making everything personal. We can protect what we love while still moving forward. And we can make difficult decisions without losing sight of the people those decisions affect.

I’m proud of the work I’ve done over the past four years, but I’m not finished.

My kids are growing up here. I have a personal stake in what Niagara-on-the-Lake becomes, and I have the experience to understand how we get there.

I will continue to come prepared.

I will continue to ask the hard questions.

I will continue to listen.

I will continue to advocate for our villages, our families and our community.

And I will continue to look for practical solutions instead of political fights.

Because this isn’t about me. It’s about the community we are building together — and the community we leave behind.

I’m Adriana Vizzari.

COMMUNITY. VISION. EXPERIENCE.

I’m ready for what comes next, and I’d be honoured to have your support.
